Guess who i’ve met just by chance along the streets of Dublin!
If your answer is Michael Jackson, you’re wrong. Unfortunately he’s dead.
I’ve met the girl who hosted me in York! A completely random encounter, very much appreciated tho

Lately this trip is having a strange but pleasant turn. Lots of smiles, last minute decisions, snow, fabulous comfy beds, many steps one after the other. Beautiful!
I know, i’ve been lazy lately with this blog. And i think it won’t change in the near future. I’m enjoying this trip, i’m having fun, i’ve met lots of intereting people, and although i have a lot of spare time and a lot of things to write, i just don’t have the will…just that
I’ll tell you about my last stop tho: Keswick, in the heart of Lake District.
The town is small, but nice and old fashioned, as most of the town in this part of England. But the whole area of Lake District is gorgeous. Beautiful mountains, not too high, nice walks, nice lakes, breathtaking panoramas. And stone circles, like this one they make the area a bit more particular
And if, when you stop a little while between the rocks, you meet a friendly english couple that offers you hospitality for your next destination, you feel happy. And if the evening you go out alone for a beer, and you find yourself surrounded by crazy but amusing people (see the picture) … well, that’s the perfect day
ciau!
English breakfast are good…but they’re starting to be heavy on my stomach, especially the bacon
A quick update, since i’m hungry, and since i don’t have an internet connection at the b&b where i’m sleeping in these days
My shoes are broken, as you can see in the picture. I’ve had great walks on the snow, having close encounters of the third kind with some wild(?) horses (i needed to give them the way, otherwise they wouldn’t continue their travel). I’ve spent new year’s eve in the laziest way walking between the fireworks and drunken people sleeping with their t-shirts on the frozen sidewalk. I’ve learned a couple of new card games. Now i’m going to eat! Enjoy your meal!
A quick update:
I changed my mobile phone number with an english one, if someone is interested in having it, contact me via mail, and i’ll send it to you
Nice city, but i prefer Gent, there is a nicer atmosphere and less tourists. But one can have fun here in Brugge also, maybe too much fun, with porto, tequila, and local students. The only problem is the day after, instead of going to England, i went to bed
If you’re in Amsterdam, and you have half a day free, you can go north in a small village called Monnickendam. Very nice, and very small, and you can visit it in just half a day
In Amsterdam, being still alive ’cause i could avoid all the mad cyclists, i could celebrate my birthday! Hurray! To be precise i was in Almere, near Amsterdam, but it doesn’t matter. A nice evening with a couchsurer from originally from indonesia, a great mom, a friendly and nice person. It was an evening of chatter, of laughing, of cooking. Thanks to Maria we discovered that risotto with apples go really well with an indonesian like salad made with brussels sprouts, tuna, garlic and soya sauce. A good mix!
After saying goodbye with Maria, i’ve waited the arrival of Samu and Giulia. It was great to see them again after so long time. We had fun visiting the city, drinking beer, eating in the worst places (worst than MacDonald also), but the most funny evening was the last one. A couchsurfing meeting with more than 60 people. The event was the Sinterklaas party, or San Niccolo’ holiday, and someone rediscovered the same traditions at lots of kilometers away from home in north/east Italy, someone else rediscovered the lost “english” language
Lots of different peoples, lots of beer, but above everything there was a great will of being together, to have fun and to party. A great evening and night. It was a pity to have to wake up early the next morning, but it was worth the price
Now i’m near Brussels, at Antwerp, very nice city, with the best and biggest train station i’ve seen till now: a nice mix of old and new, perfectly mixed together!
A moment ago i was in the profound north of Norway, now i am in Copenhagen and i still didn’t understand exactly how. Tomorrow i’ll leave again towards Amsterdam, i’m a bit early with my stops, but i’ll stop here and there before reaching Amsterdam. Two anticipations: Stockholm and Copenhagen are very beautiful, but don’t bother with Malmo
From Alta to Tromso by hitchhiking…it didn’t work, or, to be precise, i couldn’t find a direct ride and i decided to give a sure and fast conclusion to this small trip, therefore a trip by ferry. Expected time of arrival: 00:00
